Brave Tin Soldier colt, The Poet, notched up a super win at Greyville over 1400m whilst King's Chapel's Gr3 winning son King Montrose, notched up his 13th win over 1400m in the Kurow Cup.
The Poet, a three year old colt out of Jallad mare Snippety Snip (in turn out of a Snippets/Habitat mare), won impressively on the polytrack by almost two lengths from On My Wits Alone and Fabrizio.
The Poet, a R40 000 National Two Year Old Sales graduate, has placed three times previously from just six starts.
Congratulations must go to his owners Trevor and Robin Denman and trainer Mark Dixon.
King Montrose, a previous Gr3 winner of the Lindauer Stewards Stakes, by our resident sire King's Chapel - won his 13th race on 30 December in New Zealand.
The 10 year old bay gelding has won 13 times and placed 11 times (five of them Stakes races).
King Montrose is out of Tights mare, Dorrington. A graduate of NZB NZ Select Yearling Sale where he sold for $25 000, he has earned almost $250 000 in stakes.
Congratulations to all concerned.
