Warwick Render of Bush Hill gives an exciting update of King’s Chapel’s results over the last few weeks, which have seen a number of placings and wins in various countries including New Zealand and Singapore. "We have seen a steady stream of placings and winners since our last update, and I couldn’t let his results of the last fortnight go unnoticed!"
"It started with his chestnut son Chapel Star recording his third win from his 9th start, to go with a second and third, on the 16th of February. Between then and the 25th he had nine runners and recorded a further four winners, a second, a third, a fourth, a sixth and an 11th. So from his last ten runners five winners and three places! Chapel Star is out of a mare by Fiesta Star.
"On the 18th King Prawn (out of Prawn by Beaufort Sea) won in New Zealand over 1600m, this was his fifth win from 39 starts (he has also placed second on five occasions and third in nine of his starts).
"The bay filly Riverenza followed up her second placing in her last start with a win in only her third start in a field of sixteen runners over a distance of 1800m. So her career is now a win and a second from only three runs. She is out Sea Rhythm a daughter of Rhythm.
The next day King’s Fortune won a Handicap over 1400m to record his fourth career win to go with 2 seconds and 3 thirds from his 16 starts. This chestnut gelding is out of the Volksraad mare Alleyrun.
"On the 24th King’s Chapel had three runners in Singapore, King’s Salute was unplaced in this his second start. Chinese Tycoon ran 3rd over 1100m for the second time in his career to go with 6 seconds, a win surely can’t be far off for this grandson of Kaapstad. The final runner on the day was Boundless Glory who won over 1200m. This bay gelding out of the Stavinsky mare Stage Fright has had two wins and a second in his last three starts and his career of 26 starts has so far yielded 6 wins, 4 seconds and 2 thirds.
"The final runner over this period was Over And Above who ran second in New Zealand on the 25th. This chestnut gelding is already a winner and placed four times from only seven starts. He is out of a mare by Almutawakel.
"As you can see from these results for King’s Chapel there is no surprise that the excitement about his South African prospects continues to grow. We really should expect no less from a sire who was such a great race horse himself and who is as good looking as he is. It’s little wonder he is already booking mares for the 2013 season!"
