Eight year old Matador De Toros, a son of Toreador placed third in his first outing since April in Jebel Ali, Saudi Arabia on the weekend.

The full-brother to Gr1 winner Link Man sold for R610 000 off the 2010 National Two Year Old Sale, owned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum. The gelding out of Western Smoke by Among Men, from the family of North By Northwest, has been lightly raced in his career with on 13 starts and placing in five of them.

Toreador has had yet more winners - the first of the new month on Sunday with the beautifully-bred three year old gelding Pyrenees In Spain [pictured] winning his second start over 1400m after placing on debut, for owner Mario Ferriera and trainer Dennis Bosch. Pyrenees In Spain is out of Lemon Drop Kid mare Himalaya Mountains(USA). He sold for just R80 000 off the 2014 National Two Year Old sale.

Take Off has made two wins so far in November for Toreador, taking home her third win at Fairview over 1900m by almost two lengths. The five year old mare has placed nine times previously for owners Messrs I F M van Schalkwyk & G L Blank and trainer Grant Paddock. The filly is out of imported mare Flight Queen by Fantastic Light and tends to prefer a longer trip.

On the weekend at Turffontein, Champion swimmer Chad Le Clos saw his namesake Unbelievable Chad, a three year old son of Toreador place fourth in the Gr3 Graham Beck Stakes over 1400m - finished just behind King's Chapel's Malak El Moolook who ran third, only three lengths off the winner. The son chestnut son of Bush Hill's resident sire King's Chapel has now won twice and placed four times to date.

It was only Unbelievable Chad's fourth start and his first at Turffontein, the colt looks to have a bright future from the Paul Lafferty Racing Stable.

Toreador is currently sitting 11th on the National Sires Log and stands for a fee of R15 000 this season.
