Kahal continues his Group race successes this season, with daughter Festival Of Fire taking home the Gr 2 KRA Fillies Guineas at Greyville on Saturday.

Festival Of Fire started as the 2-1 favourite, with jocky Bernard Fayd’herbe keeping her in midfield on the rail - she showed a fine turn of foot off a slow pace to catch and pass Jet Aglow, who had sat in second place behind her Glen Kotzen-trained stablemate The Which Doctor.

Festival Of Fire was 2,25 lengths clear at the line and Jet Aglow held on for second, a short-head in front of a running-on Justin Snaith-trained Jet Supreme. King’s Temptress and Izora were next best.

Festival Of Fire may well be aimed at races such as the Grade 2 Tibouchina over 1 450m and the Grade 1 Garden Province over 1 600m on Vodacom Durban July day.

Festival of Fire's other wins include the Gr 3 Fillies & Mares Challenge at Turffontein, as well as the Gr 3 Starling Stakes from Blueridge Mountain.

Kahal maintains his fourth position on the top South African Sires log - to date having a Gr 1 win in the South African Classic with Love Struck, Chechetti, a previous Gr 3 winner of the Jacaranda Handicap took home the Gr 2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes at Turffontein while Eastern Greeting on the same day won the Gr 2 Camellia Stakes.

Bush Hill Stud-bred, The Mouseketeer, a versatile horse who specialises on sand is the previous winner of the Gr 2 Emerald Cup and Gr 3 August Stakes - recently taking home the Listed Highveld Sand Challenge as well as the Listed Vaal Riverside Handicap.
