Classic Illusion waltzed home with another Gr 3 victory under her belt - the Flamboyant Stakes at Greyville on Friday night.

The chestnut daughter of KZN's Champion sire Kahal has now had five wins - her previous win being the Gr 3 Yellowwood Handicap in October at Turffontein over 1800m, where she defeated the likes of Formation, Go Indigo and Rhythmic Roxy.

Owned by Mrs J P Gardner and Messrs M C Berzack, B G Gardner, K E Michael and G P Sadie, she has earned almost R500 000.

Kahal recently had a winner with Nightlock at Greyville over 1900m, and places with Dream Hunter, Kalidar, Paint Your Face, Solar Star, Gypsy Tinker and Exclusively.

David Thiselton reports that "veteran Turffontein-based trainer Gary Alexander identified Friday night’s Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes at Greyville as the perfect race for Classic Illusion. She duly obliged winning comfortably from favourite Murmering Sky and Orange Blossom. She was the best weighted horse in the conditions event and had travelled down well from Johannesburg.

"Classic Illusion enjoyed the fast conditions on Friday night and Gary’s brother and assistant-trainer Dean praised S’Manga Khumalo for a fine ride. The National Jockey’s log leader had her handy before going for home early in the straight and beating the Dennis Drier-trained Murmering Sky by two lengths."

Toreador also continued his streak with She's A Stunner, finishing just a quarter length off Jackson's half-brother Jade Bay in the Gr 3 Lebelo Sprint.

She’s A Stunner ran a cracker to storm through late for second place. Owned by Messrs J Shill, B Kantor, S M Nathan & L M Nestadt, she is trained by Sean Tarry. The consistent filly has had five wins including the Gr 3 Strelitzia Stakes and ran just a length off Eastern Greeting (by Kahal) in the Gr 2 Camellia Stakes. She has placed 16 times in total - amongst good company.

Toreador had yet another winner with Torero Dancer at Turffontein over 1160m.
