First Win For Cupid's Gold

A.P. Arrow - Johnson's Daughter by Danzatore

Cupid's Gold won her first race at the Vaal on sand over 1600m, comfortably by over two lengths.

Ridden by Karl Zechner and trained by Roy Magner, she won well from Eastside, Arizona Pie and Badger's Belle for Messrs R Fernandez, S Pretorius, K Subramoney, C P Zackey and S Sheik and D G Zackey.

The three year old filly, pictured above as a foal, has previously placed twice over the same course and distance.

Cupid's Gold is by A.P. Arrow out of Australian import Johnson's Daughter, by Dr Johnson. Johnson's Daughter is out of Danzatore mare Danza's Daughter.

This is the mare's first winner she has produced from three foals. The third dam Valour is a nine-time winner in Australia and produced 10 winners, including six Bold Black Types; this is also the female line of Gr3 Prix Du Cap winner Winter Burst.

Congratulations to the winning connections.
