Seal, bred by Dr Ian Heyns and born and raised at Bush Hill Stud, has been nominated for two categories at the upcoming KZN Breeders Awards to be held on 16 November.
The very talented Group winning son of Silvano out of Prestine Performer by Rambo Dancer, has been selected for Outstanding Older Male and Outstanding Male Stayer.
The nine-time winner has now added the Gr 3 Jubilee Handicap to his recent list of wins, which include the Aquanaut Handicap Listed, the Gr 2 Gold Vase, Wolf Power 1600 Listed and the Gr 1 SA Derby.
Now a six year old, he is owned by Mr Grant Douglas and trained by Gavin van Zyl.
Other exciting nominations include Toreador's daughter Las Ramblas, who took home the award for KZN Breeders Outstanding Three Year Old filly in 2011. The five-time winner won the Michael Roberts Listed Handicap earlier this year, and placed in The Scarlet Lady (Listed).
Our champion resident sire Kahal once again has promiment representation, particularly with his powerful band of daughters who have made themselves seen and heard country wide. They include the likes of Festival Of Fire, Eastern Greeting, Checcetti and Enchanted Kingdom who have been nominated for four categories between all of them.
Last but not least, his talented sons Love Struck, Gr 1 winner of the SA Classic and No Worries, who ran a courageous close second in the Gr 1 Daily News 2000 and subsequently finished a very admirable fourth in the 2013 Vodacom Durban July.
