First Win For Talented Ouro

Bush Hill Stud-bred daughter of Toreador, Ouro, impressed to win her third start at the Vaal on Wednesday.

Out of the brilliant broodmare Gold Lass, who has produced 100% winners from all of her runners, Ouro had placed second from both of her previous starts over 1000m at the Vaal and Turffontein respectively.

Owned by Mr H C N Da Costa, the three year old is trained by Paul Peter. Her broodmare sire is the exceptional Goldkeeper, and this is the damline of several successful Zimbabwean Bold Black Types including Battle Maiden, Canon Blast, Kushka, Bold Bidder etc.

Ouro is a half-sister to five other winners, with 21 wins between them all - including Mauritian export Ruby King who also placed 20 times.

Toreador has had 12 winners this season. Last season saw him produce sprinting Gr1 winner Bull Valley, awarded Gold Circle's Racing Awards Horse Of The Year.

Congratulations to all concerned.
